RNA interference
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010393
A biological process in which RNA molecules inhibit gene expression or translation, by neutralizing targeted messenger RNA (mRNA) molecules. This mechanism involves small interfering RNA (siRNA) or microRNA (miRNA) molecules that bind to specific mRNA sequences. It is a naturally occurring regulatory process in eukaryotic cells.
