Translation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012246
The biological process by which the genetic information encoded in messenger ribonucleic acid (mRNA) is decoded to synthesize a specific protein. This process occurs on ribosomes, where transfer RNA molecules bring the correct amino acids according to the mRNA codons. Translation proceeds in three main stages: initiation, elongation, and termination.
