Messenger RNA

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007233

A type of ribonucleic acid (RNA) that carries genetic information from deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) in the nucleus to the ribosomes in the cytoplasm. It serves as a template for protein synthesis, dictating the sequence of amino acids in a polypeptide chain. This molecule is transcribed from a DNA template during gene expression.
