Small interfering RNA molecule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010947

A class of short, double-stranded ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecules involved in the process of RNA interference. These molecules bind to messenger RNA (mRNA) with a complementary nucleotide sequence, leading to the degradation of the target mRNA and subsequent silencing of the corresponding gene. Small interfering RNA molecules are typically 20 to 25 base pairs in length.
