Nose-poke test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008084
A behavioral assay used in neurotoxicology and pharmacology to assess an animal's exploratory behavior, attention, and cognitive function. In this test, an animal, typically a rodent, pokes its nose into a hole to detect a stimulus or receive a reward. The frequency and latency of nose pokes provide insights into central nervous system activity.
