Tail flick test
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011800
A nociceptive assay used in pharmacological research to measure an animal's response to a thermal pain stimulus applied to its tail. A radiant heat source is focused on the tail, and the latency to tail flick is recorded as an indicator of pain sensitivity. This test is commonly used to evaluate the analgesic properties of compounds.
