Immunoprecipitate
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005699
The complex formed when an antibody binds to its specific antigen, leading to the formation of an insoluble aggregate that can be separated from solution. This process is the basis of immunoprecipitation, a laboratory technique used to isolate and purify specific proteins or protein complexes from a sample. The precipitate can then be analyzed by methods like Western blotting.
