Immunoprecipitation

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005700

A technique used to isolate and concentrate a specific protein or protein complex from a solution using an antibody that binds specifically to that protein. The antibody-protein complex is then precipitated out of solution, often by binding to an insoluble support like protein A/G beads. This method is widely employed for studying protein-protein interactions, post-translational modifications, and protein abundance.
