Chromatin immunoprecipitation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002042
A molecular biology technique used to study the association between specific proteins and DNA segments within a cell. This method involves cross-linking proteins to DNA, fragmenting the chromatin, and then using antibodies to selectively precipitate the protein-DNA complexes. The isolated DNA can then be analyzed to identify the genomic regions bound by the protein of interest.
