Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004584

A molecular biology technique used to identify the specific binding sites of proteins on DNA or RNA molecules. It involves treating a nucleic acid-protein complex with a nuclease or chemical agent, followed by analysis of the protected regions. This method reveals the precise sequence of nucleotides that are physically protected by the bound protein.
