Base sequence analysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001125
The process of determining the precise order of nucleotides (adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine) within a DNA or RNA molecule. This analytical technique provides genetic information that can be used for identifying organisms, studying genetic mutations, and understanding biological functions. Common methods include Sanger sequencing and next-generation sequencing technologies.
