Sequencing
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010759
The determination of the precise order of nucleotides in a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) molecule, or the order of amino acids in a protein. This analytical technique provides fundamental information about genetic material and protein structure. Common methods include Sanger sequencing for DNA and Edman degradation for proteins.
