Regulatory sequence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010126
A segment of DNA or RNA that influences the transcription or translation of a gene, without coding for a protein itself. These sequences serve as binding sites for regulatory proteins, such as transcription factors, which can activate or repress gene expression. Examples include promoters, enhancers, and silencers, which control the timing and level of gene activity.
