Nucleoproteins
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008140
Conjugated proteins that are intimately associated with nucleic acids, forming stable complexes. These complexes play a structural or functional role in the cell, such as in gene regulation or packaging of genetic material. Examples include histones bound to DNA in chromatin and ribosomal proteins associated with ribosomal RNA.
