Nucleic acids

Biopolymers composed of repeating nucleotide units, which are themselves made of a nitrogenous base, a five-carbon sugar, and at least one phosphate group. These macromolecules store and transmit genetic information within living organisms. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and ribonucleic acid (RNA) are the two primary types.
