Pyrimidine bases
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009699
Nitrogen-containing heterocyclic organic compounds characterized by a six-membered ring containing two nitrogen atoms. These bases are fundamental components of nucleic acids, where they form hydrogen bonds to stabilize the double helix structure. Cytosine, thymine, and uracil are the primary pyrimidine bases found in DNA and RNA.
