Protein G
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009578
A bacterial cell wall protein isolated from Group G Streptococcus, which binds to the Fc region of mammalian immunoglobulins, particularly IgG. Similar to protein A, it is used extensively in laboratory applications for antibody purification, detection, and immobilization. Protein G exhibits a broader binding specificity for IgG subclasses compared to protein A.
