CD16
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001762
A low-affinity Fc receptor for immunoglobulin G (IgG), also known as FcγRIII, expressed on natural killer (NK) cells, macrophages, and neutrophils. This receptor mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC) by binding to the Fc portion of IgG antibodies coating target cells. CD16 exists in two isoforms, CD16a (transmembrane) and CD16b (glycosylphosphatidylinositol-anchored).
