Immunoglobulin E-binding Fc receptors
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005677
Cell surface proteins that specifically bind the Fc region of immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies. These receptors mediate allergic reactions by triggering the release of inflammatory mediators upon IgE binding and subsequent allergen cross-linking. High-affinity IgE receptors (FcεRI) are found on mast cells and basophils, while low-affinity receptors (FcεRII or CD23) are present on B lymphocytes and other immune cells.
