Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001761

A family of cell surface glycoproteins structurally related to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules, but specialized in presenting lipid and glycolipid antigens to T lymphocytes. These molecules are expressed on antigen-presenting cells, such as dendritic cells and macrophages. There are five human CD1 isoforms: CD1a, CD1b, CD1c, CD1d, and CD1e.
