Langerhans cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006436
A specialized dendritic cell found primarily in the epidermis of the skin and mucous membranes, where it acts as an antigen-presenting cell. These cells capture and process antigens, then migrate to regional lymph nodes to initiate immune responses. They express CD1 and Fc receptors on their surface.
