  "definition": "A process by which certain antigen-presenting cells, primarily dendritic cells, acquire antigens from infected or dying cells and present them on major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I molecules to activate CD8+ T cells. This mechanism allows the immune system to initiate cytotoxic T lymphocyte responses against pathogens or tumor cells that do not directly infect antigen-presenting cells. It is a key pathway for inducing cell-mediated immunity.",
