Conventional dendritic cell

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002538

A major subtype of dendritic cells specialized in processing and presenting antigens to initiate adaptive immune responses. They capture antigens in peripheral tissues, mature, and migrate to lymphoid organs to activate naïve T lymphocytes. These cells are distinguished from other dendritic cell types, such as plasmacytoid dendritic cells, by their distinct surface markers, developmental pathways, and primary function in T cell activation.
