Polyclonal antibody
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009119
A heterogeneous mixture of antibodies produced by different B cell clones in response to an antigen, recognizing multiple epitopes on that antigen. These antibodies are typically generated by immunizing an animal with the antigen and then collecting the serum. Polyclonal antibodies are used in many immunological assays, such as Western blotting and immunohistochemistry, due to their high affinity and ability to detect multiple antigenic sites.
