Polyclonal activator
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009118
A substance that stimulates a large proportion of lymphocytes, both B and T cells, to proliferate and differentiate, regardless of their antigen specificity. These activators bypass the need for specific antigen recognition, leading to a broad, non-specific immune response. Pokeweed mitogen and lipopolysaccharide are examples of polyclonal activators.
