Immune adherence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005634
The process by which antigen-antibody complexes, particularly those coated with complement components, bind to specific receptors on the surface of certain immune cells, such as phagocytes and erythrocytes. This binding facilitates the clearance of immune complexes from circulation and enhances phagocytosis. It is a mechanism for removing foreign particles and cellular debris.
