Immunopathy

Any disease or disorder that involves a malfunction or abnormality of the immune system. This broad term encompasses conditions ranging from immunodeficiencies, where the immune system is underactive, to autoimmune diseases, where it mistakenly attacks the body's own tissues. Examples include lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.
