Autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 1 or 2

A group of rare disorders characterized by the simultaneous occurrence of autoimmune diseases affecting multiple endocrine glands. Type 1 involves chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis, hypoparathyroidism, and Addison disease, while Type 2 typically includes Addison disease, autoimmune thyroid disease, and type 1 diabetes mellitus. These syndromes result from a breakdown in immune tolerance.
