Organophilic interaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008322
A type of attractive force or affinity between a substance and organic compounds, often characterized by nonpolar or weak polar interactions such as van der Waals forces. This interaction leads to the preferential adsorption or dissolution of organic molecules onto or within the substance. It is a key factor in the compatibility of materials in organic media.
