Force field
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004590
A set of mathematical functions and associated parameters used in computational chemistry to describe the potential energy of a system of atoms and molecules. It defines the interactions between atoms, including bond stretching, angle bending, torsional rotations, and non-bonded interactions like van der Waals forces and electrostatic forces. Common force fields include AMBER and CHARMM.
