Internal valence force field
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005974
A model used in molecular mechanics and vibrational spectroscopy to describe the potential energy of a molecule based on its internal coordinates, such as bond lengths, bond angles, and dihedral angles. This force field employs a set of force constants to quantify the resistance to deformation of these internal coordinates. It is used to calculate molecular geometries and vibrational frequencies.
