Potential of mean force
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009317
The free energy profile for a system as a function of one or more reaction coordinates, obtained by averaging over all other degrees of freedom. It represents the effective potential between two or more particles in a system, accounting for the influence of surrounding particles. This quantity is typically derived from statistical mechanics and molecular simulations.
