Weighted mean
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012672
A type of average where some data points contribute more than others to the final value. Each data point is multiplied by a specific weight, and the sum of these products is then divided by the sum of the weights. This statistical measure is used when different measurements have varying degrees of reliability or precision.
