Homologous polymer blend
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005375
A polymer blend made by combining samples of a single polymer that differ in molar mass distribution, for example polystyrene of low molar mass mixed with polystyrene of high molar mass. Because every chain is chemically the same, such blends are generally miscible, and the blend's properties follow from its overall distribution. Its weight-average molar mass is the sum of the weight-average molar masses of the components, each multiplied by its weight fraction.
