Polymer bead

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013414

A polymer particle that is approximately spherical in shape. These beads are produced by polymerization in dispersed systems, most notably suspension polymerization, which yields particles in the micrometer to millimeter size range. Polymer beads are used in applications such as ion-exchange resins, size-exclusion chromatography media, and as solid-phase synthesis supports.
