Polymer microsphere
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009181
A spherical polymer microparticle with an equivalent diameter of roughly 0.1 to 100 micrometres. It can be dense or porous, as in the macroporous beads used as chromatography supports, and has no separate shell around a hollow core, which sets it apart from a polymer microcapsule. Emulsion, suspension and dispersion polymerization are the usual ways of making it.
