Pre-polymer molecule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009399

A macromolecule of intermediate molecular weight that still possesses reactive functional groups, allowing it to undergo further polymerization or crosslinking reactions. These molecules are typically formed in the initial stages of a polymerization process and serve as building blocks for the final high molecular weight polymer. They are distinct from monomers, which are the smallest repeating units.
