Prepolymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009398
An oligomeric or polymeric substance that contains reactive functional groups capable of undergoing further polymerization to form a higher molecular weight polymer. This material is typically of intermediate molecular weight and is not yet fully cross-linked or cured. It serves as a precursor in the synthesis of more complex polymer structures, such as thermosets or elastomers.
