Oligomer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013362
A molecule of intermediate relative molecular mass, comprising a small number of monomeric units. Unlike polymers, oligomers typically exhibit distinct properties that change significantly with the addition or removal of one or a few monomeric units. The term is derived from the Greek 'oligos', meaning 'a few'.
