Pre-reactive complexes
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009405
Transient molecular assemblies formed by reactants prior to the actual chemical reaction, held together by weak intermolecular forces. These complexes exist in a shallow potential energy well on the reaction pathway, preceding the transition state. Their formation can influence the kinetics and selectivity of a reaction.
