Rheopexic gel

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010335

A type of gel that exhibits an increase in viscosity over time when subjected to a constant shear rate, and then slowly returns to its original, less viscous state upon cessation of shear. This behavior is a form of time-dependent shear thickening. The structural rearrangement leading to increased viscosity is reversible.
