Rheopexy

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010336

A rare type of non-Newtonian fluid behavior where the viscosity of a fluid increases with time under constant shear stress or shear rate. This phenomenon is observed in certain colloidal suspensions and pastes, where particles gradually align or aggregate. The fluid becomes more viscous the longer it is sheared.
