Solidification
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010996
The phase transition of a substance from a liquid or gaseous state to a solid state, typically involving the formation of a crystalline or amorphous solid structure. This process releases latent heat and occurs at a specific freezing point for pure substances. Solidification is a fundamental process in metallurgy, materials science, and geology.
