Colloidal gel

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002242

A soft, solid-like material formed by the aggregation of colloidal particles into a continuous, interconnected network throughout a liquid medium. This network provides mechanical strength and elasticity to the system, preventing the particles from settling. The formation of a colloidal gel often involves a sol-gel transition, where a liquid sol transforms into a gel.
