Sol-gel coating
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010980
A thin film applied to a substrate using the sol-gel process, involving the deposition of a liquid precursor solution (sol) that subsequently transforms into a solid network (gel). These coatings can impart properties such as scratch resistance, anti-reflection, or corrosion protection. The final properties depend on the precursor chemistry and processing conditions.
