Gelation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004799
The process by which a polymeric system transforms from a liquid or sol state into a gel, characterized by the formation of a continuous, three-dimensional network. This transformation involves an increase in viscosity and the development of elastic properties. Gelation can be induced by chemical reactions, temperature changes, or solvent removal.
