Gel time
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004798
The duration required for a polymerizing system to reach its gel point, where an infinite network forms and the material loses its ability to flow. This time is dependent on factors such as monomer concentration, initiator concentration, temperature, and the functionality of the monomers. It is a practical measure used in the processing of thermosetting resins.
