Solar radiation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010979
Electromagnetic radiation emitted by the Sun, encompassing a broad spectrum from ultraviolet to infrared, with visible light being the most intense component. This energy drives Earth's climate system, powers photosynthesis, and initiates numerous photochemical reactions in the atmosphere. The intensity of solar radiation reaching Earth's surface is influenced by atmospheric absorption and scattering.
