Photoconducting polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008829
A polymeric material that exhibits increased electrical conductivity upon exposure to electromagnetic radiation, particularly in the visible or ultraviolet spectrum. The absorption of photons generates mobile charge carriers, such as electrons and holes, which can then transport current through the material. These polymers are employed in devices like organic solar cells, photodetectors, and electrophotographic printers.
