Diurnal variation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003355
The regular pattern of change or fluctuation in a physical or chemical parameter that occurs over a 24-hour period, primarily influenced by the Earth's rotation and the daily cycle of solar radiation. This can include changes in temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, or the concentration of certain atmospheric pollutants. For example, ozone concentrations in urban areas often exhibit a diurnal variation.
